1 pkt smoked mackerel
1 small tub cream cheese
lemon juice
ground black pepper
chives or parsley (optional)
Method:
Break up the fish into a bowl, taking care to remove bones & skin.
Add the cream cheese, lemon juice and pepper (and herbs if you are using) then mash with your fingers until as smooth as you like.
Serve with wholegrain toast, or oatcakes, and a salad
Try making with hot-smoked salmon or trout instead of mackerel
