- 1 tin (400g) chickpeas or beans in water
- 1-2tsp tahini
- 1 clove garlic, peeled & chopped
- lemon juice
- oil
- salt & pepper
Method:
Drain the chickpeas / beans and add to a bowl.
Add tahini, and a little oil and lemon juice.
Blend, adding more oil if needed.
Taste, and add seasoning if necessary.
Serve with pitta, oatcakes or veg sticks
Try pumpkin seed butter instead of tahini for a nuttier flavour.
Add spices such as chilli, or herbs like coriander or parsley.
